Fundraising

As a public charter school, Elmwood Village Charter School receives only 52% of the New York State educational funding that is granted to the district school competitors. In contrast to other Buffalo Public Schools, charter schools do not have separate funding for facilities and are expected to derive all operational costs from this funding.

EVCS has successfully accomplished more for our students with less state financial support. However, our commitment to small class size naturally limits our income and makes fundraising that much more important.

To that end, we hold fundraising opportunities throughout the year, as well as ongoing “passive” campaigns like Box Tops for Education and Amazon Smile. These fundraising events are vital to the life of our school and the success of our students.

Evening in Days Park

Evening in Days Park is held each fall at EVCS, featuring live music, art, a beer tasting, food, cash bar, and our silent auction and basket raffle with many items donated by our local community.

The EVCS Annual Appeal

The Annual Appeal is held each spring and kicks off in conjunction with the United Way’s Spring It On fundraising campaign.
