About Our Campuses

In September 2012, Elmwood Village Charter Schools moved into the historic 40 Days Park. In September 2017, EVCS opened its second campus at 665 Hertel Avenue. The facilities at each campus are fully modernized and renovated.

Days Park Campus

The Main Building

EVCS invested over 5 million dollars to renovate the building at 40 Days Park, which was originally constructed in 1957. The renovated building amenities include:

  • A playground
  • A full-size gymnasium
  • A modern library and media center
  • A full-size cafeteria
  • Large, bright classrooms
  • Handicap accessibility
  • Updated office spaces
  • Pull-out rooms for special education and ESL instruction
  • Art and music classrooms
  • Wireless computer access in every classroom

The expanded facility accommodates our expansion to full capacity of 450 students, (in 18-19).

The EVCS Days Park Library & Media Center

EVCS Days Park’s Library and Media Center is staffed five days a week by a certified library and media specialist and a parent volunteer. The center houses:

  • Over 5,500 books, periodicals, and resources
  • 26 Chromebooks
  • A laptop cart
  • An interactive SMART Board

In addition, each classroom has its own classroom library and 1-3 computers for student use. Grades 1-8 have a permanently mounted SMART Board in each classroom, with a portable unit available as well.

 

Hertel Campus

EVCS Hertel will house grades K through 8 by September 2023. The facility opened in September 2017 with 150 students (50 students per grade, in K through 2), and will add 50 students / one grade level per year, up to grade 8.

The Delaware Soccer Club and EVCS have developed a soccer field for use by the school and Club teams.

The EVCS Hertel Library & Media Center

  • An interactive SMART Board

In addition, each classroom has its own classroom library and 1-3 computers for student use. Grades K-3 have a permanently mounted Promethean Interactive Board in each classroom.
