Danielle Bruno was promoted to Director of Schools of Elmwood Village Charter Schools in July 2022. She is an accomplished and experienced school leader who has served in the field of education for over 25 years. Prior to her six years of service as the principal of EVCS Days Park, Mrs. Bruno served as a classroom teacher, gifted education specialist, science resource teacher, instructional coach, and school administrator. Mrs. Bruno has taught graduate level courses in Gifted Education, and was recognized as Teacher of the Year by the Northern Virginia Council for Gifted Education. She was a founder of the Universal Pre-Kindergarten program in the Kenmore-Tonawanda school district, and has piloted early childhood and co-teaching programs with the University at Buffalo and the New York State Department of Education.
Mrs. Bruno earned a Bachelor’s degree in English and a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from the University at Buffalo, and a Master’s degree in Education Administration and Leadership from The George Washington University. She holds active certifications in Elementary Education, Gifted Education, and School Administration and Supervision.

Dave Phillips is Principal of Elmwood Village Charter Schools’ Days Park campus. Mr. Phillips, an educator with many years of teaching experience at EVCS, served as EVCS Days Park’s assistant principal prior to his promotion to principal in July 2022.

Liz Fisher’s extensive teaching and administrative experience includes her years at EVCS as Assistant Principal and Interim Principal, before promotion to Principal. Prior to joining EVCS, Mrs. Fisher served for 11 years at Erie 1 BOCES as Coordinator of Curriculum and Staff Development, and 11 years as an elementary and middle-school teacher. She holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Elementary Education from the SUNY College at Buffalo, with NYS leadership certifications as School Building Leader / School District Leader, and permanent NYS Pre-K-6, English 7-12, and Gifted Extension certifications.

Anne Wechsler holds a Master of Arts degree from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University. She is the Academic Program Coordinator and one of the founders of the Elmwood Village Charter Schools. Ms. Wechsler is certified in elementary education from kindergarten through grade six. She has worked in charter school development and served as a teacher in charter schools in Brooklyn, Boston, and Buffalo.

Liz Evans holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree from the University of Buffalo. She is a founder and parent of a graduate of Elmwood Village Charter Schools. Ms. Evans served on the EVCS Board of Trustees for six years, five of them as Chair. She has extensive experience in higher education and in the non-profit sector.
