Special Education & ELL

Elmwood Village Charter School employs nine special education teachers (one at each grade level) who work alongside our general education teachers to utilize strategies that are successful with a wide range of students.

Special Education

EVCS offers a full-range of special education services that include:

  • Push-in intervention (a specialist, tutor or teaching assistant comes into the classroom to work with an individual or a small group)
  • Pull-out intervention (a specialist, tutor or teaching assistant works with an individual student outside of the classroom in a private setting)
  • Consultant teachers
  • Resource room
  • Speech, occupational and physical therapy

ELL

Additionally, English language learners with limited proficiency are provided both push-in and pull-out opportunities to work with an ELL teacher and achieve the same educational goals and standards as the general student population.
