Health Policies and Guidelines
- See our Covid Faqs for Families if your child is sick or in case of known or suspected exposure to illness.
- Download the guidelines on when to keep a child home: When to keep a sick child home. (All students).
- Please note: The temperature threshold is 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit.
- EVCS guidance for masks: Fabric face coverings that secure around the ears and/or head to form a snug fit around the face without gaps (no gaiters; no bandanas that don’t secure snugly around the face). Backup masks will be available throughout the school.
Medication Authorization and Medical Action Plans
All prescribed medication and over-the-counter medication to be administered during the school day must be accompanied by a written prescription from their doctor and the Medication Authorization form signed by the parent. Medication must be brought to school by an adult in the original pharmacy container per New York State. The nurse must have documentation for medical action plans in place while the child is attending school. If your child requires any of the below while at school, download the appropriate form(s) and return them, completed, to the nurse.
The following are due annually, for each school year:
- Download the Authorization for Medications at School Form
- Download the Asthma Action Plan Form
- Download the Food Allergy Action Plan Form
- If your child has a diabetic action plan, please bring it to the nurse (obtainable from Children’s Hospital, or ask your child’s doctor).
