Position: Building Manager
Status: Full Time (Hours 6:00am - 2:30pm)
Duration: 12 Month Employee
Location: Days Park Campus
Reports to: Facilities Manager
Compensation: The expected compensation for this position is$37,000-$45,000 annually. Salary is commensurate with experience and education.

The Opportunity
We are looking for a reliable and motivated building custodian who takes pride in a clean school for our campus community.
The Building Custodian is expected to report to work prior to other staff in order to:
- Ensure all mechanical systems are in good working order (heating, cooling, electricity, etc). If any problems occur immediately notify the Facilities Manager
- Unlock and open all classroom and office doors
- Before instructional staff report inspect the building for any unsafe/unsanitary conditions and either immediately remedy the issue or indicate they are unsafe
- Snow-blow and salt any snow/ice-covered walkways leading into the building
- Monitor building supplies inventory and notify Facilities Manager of any supplies that are running low
- Ensure mats at entrances and hallways are in place
- Ensure that all entrances are clean and maintained appropriately for the campus community
Throughout the day the Building Custodian will:
- Perform general cleaning duties in order to maintain a high level of building cleanliness
- Clean cafeteria and bathrooms throughout the day in order to maintain a high level of building cleanliness
- Respond to walkie calls from staff in a timely manner and provide excellent service
- Refill paper towel, toilet tissue, soap, hand sanitizer dispensers as needed
- Sanitize high touch surfaces (railings, door handles, copiers, etc)
- Clean the floors including sweeping/dust mopping, wet mopping and vacuuming
- Collect and empty trash and recycling containers throughout the day
- Clean and disinfect all washrooms Ongoing job duties include:
- Maintain a welcoming and clean environment for all staff, visitors and
- Perform minor building repairs
- Maintain grounds surrounding EVCS including watering plants/trees, ensuring grounds are free from garbage and cleaning entrances
- Notify Facilities Manager and Director of Operations of any emergency maintenance issues
- Provide daily update to Facilities Manager of any outstanding items or areas of concern When School is not in session:
- Manage the deep cleaning of the building including but not limited to washing and shampooing all carpets, stripping and waxing floors, painting etc to ensure the school building is welcoming to the campus community
- Move furniture and equipment in connecting with cleaning and care of EVCS
- Paint and perform minor repairs as directed by the Facilities Manager
- Wash windows and other exterior and interior fixtures Additional job duties may be needed based on the needs of EVCS

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Three years of prior Custodial experience
- Prior experience cleaning in a school setting preferred
- Knowledge of complete floor care
- Good knowledge of commercial cleaning practices and procedures;
- Working knowledge of the maintenance and repair practices and procedures related to buildings, its fixtures and operating equipment;
- Working knowledge of the properties of various cleaning substances;
- Ability to use various cleaning equipment and products;
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day and move about effectively to fulfill the essential functions of the job.
- Ability to climb ladders, bend, stretch, kneel and list a minimum of 25 lbs required
- Working knowledge of computer systems
- Manual dexterity and strength needed to operate cleaning tools such as mops, brooms and vacuum cleaners
